There are two primary aspects to maintaining a healthy body: an appropriate weight and exercise. Eating well must be combined with exercise to achieve a healthy body. Health and physical fitness is something that is difficult for many people to achieve, but it does not have to be all that difficult.

If you are working toward health and physical fitness, there are some important things to know. First of all, you need to get to a healthy weight. Exercise alone is not enough to achieve this. You must reduce calories so that the amount you are eating is less than the number of calories you are burning each day. That’s why exercise is key; it increases the number of calories you are burning. Once you have adjusted eating habits so that you are on your way to your weight loss goals, you can start focusing on your physical fitness. To become physically fit, exercise must be a part of your daily routine.

Medical professionals agree that exercise five or six days a week should be the goal for every person. If you are trying to lose weight, your exercise routine should be about an hour a day. If you are at a healthy weight and just trying to maintain physical fitness, you can reduce the amount of time you are exercising to about 40 minutes. The other key to health and physical fitness is to make sure you are exercising at your target heart rate. If your heart rate is not at this level, you are basically wasting your time. To achieve physical fitness, you must know your target heart rate and keep it there during exercise.
